Answer:

Dear Faiza

I am delighted to inform (apprise) you that I have been admitted to the Toronto University of Canada to complete my postgraduate in computer science. That is why I am supposed to arrive in Toronto within two months. I have to stay in Toronto for nearly two years to accomplish my studies. I think during my studies I will get some free time every day, and I would like to utilize this spare time having a part-time job there to earn some extra money.

You are well aware that studying in Canada requires a huge amount of money. You also know that I belong to a middle-class family. So, if I can earn some money by performing a part-time job, then it will certainly ease my parents’ burden. At the same time, such a part-time job will help me a lot to gather sufficient experience, and it will surely assist me in procuring a preferable job in the future.

I will be very happy if you provide me with some advice about the available part-time job in your city and how I can apply for this. I think, living in Toronto for many years, you have been familiar with several restaurants, shops, tour agents, etc. Therefore, your recommendation (reference) can help me to get a part-time job quickly.

Best wishes,

Tanjila

Writing Task-2

In many countries, the amount of crime is increasing.

What do you think are the main causes of crime?

How can we deal with those causes?

Answer:

The increase in crime rate is a burning problem across the world. Many nations are struggling with increased criminal activities. I think the crime rate is rising due to poverty and a weak judicial system.

Crime is getting worse across the world, especially in poverty-affected nations. In the poorer nations, unemployment is a great curse, and significant numbers of people are jobless there. In this situation, when they are paid for criminal activities, they are motivated readily (easily) to commit them without any hesitation because they need money badly for their survival. Side by side, most people in crime-ridden nations have lost their faith in the judicial system. The criminals who have committed heinous crimes are set free due to a serious lapse in the judicial system. As a result, the culprits have no fear of the law, and they participate in criminal activities repeatedly.

In my opinion, the government of every country should devise (plan) proper programs to alleviate poverty and also should implement strict laws to reduce the crime rate. Needless to say, crime rates can be reduced significantly by improving the socio-economic situation of poverty-stricken countries. Both the government and the private sector of every country have to take proper outlines and fruitful initiatives in favor of massive economic development so that numerous jobs can be created by setting up a lot of factories and industries.

It goes without saying that people will not indulge in criminal activities at all if they can acquire favorable jobs easily. Besides, the governments need to reform the judicial system to eliminate the pitfalls of this system. If the notorious criminals are punished fearfully, the other offenders will surely be deterred from committing any crime.
